PwC build 119 wooden toys in Dublin, during Lightbulb Teams team-build activity, Toy for Life.

PwC’s Conference

This year’s PricewaterhouseCooper’s (PwC) Tax Below Manager Conference took place at Clontarf Castle, Dublin, bringing together 390 delegates to explore themes of belonging and collaboration. As part of their commitment to teamwork and social impact, PwC partnered with Lightbulb Teams to take part in our latest team-building initiative, Toy for Life.

Having previously collaborated with PwC in 2023 to deliver our Give a Hand programme, we were delighted to return with a new, meaningful challenge—one that not only strengthened team bonds but also created a lasting impact for children across the globe.

PwC’s Team-Build

After a morning of networking and tax updates, our facilitator, Aaron, took to the stage to energise the audience with an inspiring message about collaboration. Delegates then broke into teams of 3-5 to take on the Toy for Life challenge: assembling durable wooden toy cars, which would later be donated in PwC’s name to children in need.

This hands-on activity provided the perfect opportunity for participants to strengthen their communication skills while working together to construct the toys. They also tapped into their creativity by personalising each toy’s travel bag with personal messages.

Toy for Life is a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we work together toward a shared goal—an invaluable lesson that PwC participants can carry with them long after their conference experience.

PwC’s Impact

Thanks to PwC’s efforts, 119 wooden toys have been successfully built and donated to communities in Uganda! Giving children the opportunity to experience the joy of play in a safe and meaningful way.

Why ‘Toy for Life’?

In many underprivileged communities, children often play with makeshift or unsafe toys—items like discarded plastic bottles, scraps of metal, or even stones. Without access to safe, durable, and stimulating play materials, these children miss out on vital opportunities for cognitive and social development.

This is where Toy for Life makes a difference. By providing high-quality, handcrafted wooden toys built to last generations, we help ensure that children can engage in the power of play, safely.
