Our Charity Partners

LN4 Hand Project

The LN4 project is a charity that has been providing free mechanical prosthetic hands to those in need since 2005. The LN4 hand has been created to give individuals back their independence, it helps to restore functionality in people who suffer from diseases requiring amputation or from limbs lost in traumatic incidents. The aim of the LN4 Hand Project is to provide everyone who requires a prosthetic hand, with one. Regardless of their socioeconomic status or ability to pay. To date, the charity has successfully distributed over 77 thousand prosthetic hands in over 99 different countries, worldwide.

How we work together: At Lightbulb Teams, we run prosthetic hand team building workshops to our clients to build prosthetic hands that can change lives. We deliver these, in our clients name, to the LN4 Charity for free distribution.

Lifewater International

Clean drinking water and basic sanitation are critical to life. Without them, families walk miles for water that makes them sick, cause blindness, and inflict vast avoidable fatalities. Lifewater International is on a mission to empower global communities, providing access to safe water and improved sanitation and hygiene facilities.

How we work together: We deliver Water Filter Team Building programmes to our clients all over the world. The water filters built by our clients in team building sessions are distributed to global communities where Lifewater helps to educate recipients on the danger of using water from untreated sources. As a result of our partnership with Lifewater, thousands of individuals get access to life-saving, water filtration systems.

Stand by Me, Children’s Home

Working in Romania since 1999, the charity Stand by Me run a children’s centre that educates and cares for children from rural villages. The families who benefit from this support are amongst the poorest in Europe, many will only be able to afford one meal a day. The Denisa Centre provides free education, daily food and is helping to meet the physical, medical, emotional and spiritual needs of 50 children. Trips, treats, and now the toys built by Lightbulb’s clients, will help enhance the lives of the children, allowing them to escape their daily environment and experience the power of play.

How we work together: The Lightbulb Teams toy building team session ‘Toy For Life’ challenges companies and their people to construct beautiful wooden toys from scratch. Many of these toys are donated in our clients names to Stand by Me. The toys are purpose built and designed to be passed down for generations, making them a gift that truly is for life.

Rukoki Model Primary School, Uganda

In the Kasese district, in Uganda, there is a total number of 635 pupils who attend the Rukoki Model Primary School. 268 of these pupils have special needs and rely on the school for care they would not receive otherwise. Many of the children who attend the school come from families who are living in situations of extreme poverty, who may not be able to afford everyday essentials.

How we work together: For most of the children, they have never been gifted a toy before, so we feel honoured and privileged to share the gifts our clients create and construct. The Lightbulb Teams toy building team session ‘Toy For Life’ challenges companies and their people to construct beautiful wooden toys from scratch. The toys are so strong and robust, they’re often passed down from class to class to share the wonder and the power of play.

The Children’s Inn at NIH

Caring for children from all over the United States, The Children’s Inn works to provide a community that feels like a second home for Children and Young Adults who are undergoing treatments and participating in clinical research studies. The Children’s Inn’s aim is to support the families of, and the children who are patients, offering therapeutic, educational and recreational programs to the individuals in their care.

How we work together: Working with our long standing partners Merck/MSD, we’ve hand delivered beautiful wooden toys to children who are being treated in The Childrens Inn at the National Institutes of Health. These powerful gifts bring joy and happiness to the families who are residing there during challenging times.
