About the team-build
A typical session runs for 90 minutes, including warm up, energisers the team-build activity itself and a de-brief. We can adjust the format to fit tighter conference schedules or expand it to match your agenda. Together we will map out the best fit for your event.
No, the session is scalable. We’ve delivered sessions for intimate leadership teams of 10, as well as global corporate days with over 2,200+ participants.
We tailor the format to suit your group size and venue.
All our team-builds commence with an interactive keynote to energise your audience. This sets the tone for us to introduce your selected team-build experience before your people break out for the practical, hands-on purpose-driven activity.
To conclude, we’ll debrief and summarise your team’s learnings.
We can offer as much support and guidance as you need. Some of our clients choose to buy our kits and run the session entirely independently themselves without anyone from Lightbulb present. Alternatively, we offer a full-service, white-glove approach where our team becomes your dedicated event partner and assists with everything on the day.
As for the technicalities of the activities, we offer a dedicated Help Desk option for our team-builds, offering you technical, kit and group support on the day – ensuring smooth delivery from start to finish.
Absolutely. Ahead of your event we will work with your team to understand your organisation’s values, CSR goals, or leadership themes so that we can seamlessly weave them into the session’s messaging. Our job is to use these immersive team activities to be a vehicle and a metaphor for the message you need your team to hear and understand.
We’re your partner, and we’ll work with your messaging every step of the way.

Booking a team-build
If you’re thinking about our CSR programs but aren’t sure which one to pick, no worries! Just reach out to us, and we’ll help you find the best fit for your company’s goals and event specifics.
We recommend booking your event as soon as possible to secure your event date. While we always aim to accommodate shorter lead times, we do advise booking at least 4-6 weeks in advance to allow for kit preparation and shipping.
Our job is to make your job easy every step of the way. The moment your booking is confirmed, we work with you to be your dedicated event success partners. After booking is confirmed, our operations and logistics team will use their experience to provide full pre-event support – discussing logistics, room layouts, timelines etc.
This allows for a smooth operation on the day to ensure your event goes to plan and your people enjoy a valuable experience.
After the event, our team will wrap up the equipment, ready to be shipped and quality-checked by our qualified and highly trained team of technicians. Then in the coming weeks, we’ll share relevant updates on the meaningful impact your teams generated.

Both. While the social impact is real and lasting, the session is grounded in team psychology, problem-solving, and communication. We will work with you to make sure that your session is designed from the ground up to meet your overall business needs – whether it’s communication, innovation, leadership, collaboration or motivation – we will design a programme that educates as well as inspires.
Each team-build experience balances energy, collaboration, and purpose. It begins with fun and connection and concludes with a powerful emotional moment as participants realise the impact of their work.
Give a Hand questions
Each kit includes all the components needed to assemble one complete prosthetic hand, along with the necessary tools for construction. It also comes with a blank protective travel case for the finished hand and decorative pens for personalisation. To support your build session, we provide step-by-step instructions on the day, with supporting videos.
A typical team of 3-4 people can complete the hand assembly in approximately 45 minutes. Timings can vary depending on the group size and ability. However a full session including warm up, energisers and de-brief is typically 60-90 minutes.
Each kit is designed for single use and to be donated as a completed device. While the experience is repeatable, the materials are intended for one build and not for disassembly or reuse.
Our Help Desk assistant will be on hand to offer full support and guidance on the day. Each prosthetic hand will undergo a quality check by our fully experienced technicians before it is fitted to a recipient.
Prosthetic hands are fitted to recipients across the world by our network of charity partners. Depending on the version your team builds, they could be fitted to a child (version 1) or adult (version 2). Once built and quality checked, we work alongside our distribution network to ensure they arrive where they’re needed most.
While we can’t guarantee the complete tracking journey for individual prosthetic devices – due to clinical delivery processes and doctor & patient confidentiality – we can still share a general update on the hand distribution placements since your event. Individual teams can choose (at their own discretion) to attach their email address to their completed hand if they would like to hear back from the end recipient.
Water Works questions
Each team’s participation in the programme provides one household filter (which they will decorate), and one emergency filter (which they will construct together). They receive all of the tools, equipment, and components that they need to build the kit successfully.
To support your build session, we provide step-by-step instructions on the day, with supporting videos.
A typical team of 3-5 people can complete the filter assembly in approximately 30-45 minutes. Timings can vary depending on the group size and ability. However a full session including warm up, energisers and de-brief is typically 60-90 minutes.
We work with charity partners to distribute water filters to communities in Uganda. Once it has been delivered, your team will receive a photograph of their filter in the hands of the end recipient.
Chronic shortages of clean and safe water remain a real issue for many in developing countries, but thanks to your support of the Water Works programme, we can protect communities and save lives.
Each kit has its own unique tracking ID number, which can be found on the water filter tile provided. Delegates should note this tracking number (taking a photo works great) and log it in our tracking site to follow their filter’s journey after the event. Once the filter has arrived in Uganda, the tracking site will be updated with a photo of individuals/families using it.
Water filter kits can typically take anywhere between 8-12 weeks to arrive at their end destination. However, on occasion, quality checks and shipping deployments can delay this. We encourage all delegates to check their tracking ID number to stay updated.
Toy for Life questions
Each toy kit includes all the components needed to assemble one beautiful wooden toy, along with the necessary tools for construction. It also comes with a canvas tote bag that the toys will travel in for delegates to personalise.
To support your build session, we provide step-by-step instructions on the day, with supporting videos.
A typical team of 3 people can complete the toy build in approximately 45 minutes. Timings can vary depending on the group size and ability. However, a full session including warm up, energisers and de-brief is typically 60-90 minutes.
Teams can let their creativity run wild, decorating the recycled canvas carry tote. The toy itself can also be laser-engraved with the company logo, theme of the event, or any other particulars that your event planners would like. Let our team know when you’re booking your team build, and we can advise on the additional fee.
We work with charity partners to distribute toys to underprivileged children around the world. Distribution locations are decided upon according to need at that moment, and we will advise closer to the time.
Distributions happen a number of times per year and typically occur within 12-16 weeks of your team build. However, this may vary depending on the time required for quality checks, freight forwarding space and rates.
Breaking News questions
We encourage each team to have access to a smartphone for capturing content as part of the activity.
On the day we will provide an introduction the programme, microphones for teams to speak with, props for delegates to get creative and our expertise to piece every team’s video together for the ‘big reveal’.
Breaking News sessions can vary depending on your event schedule, though we typically recommend 60-120 minutes. We recommend allocating enough time for teams to first plan and storyboard their content before capturing and watching their reports back during the ‘big reveal’.
Based on your audience size, we will recommend a suggested time for the session.
Not at all – our team will advise on the best way to capture content before teams get started, and our team will stitch the videos together for the end reveal.
If you would like to add a competitive edge to the Breaking News session, we can include judging, audience voting or prizes – but the true outcome of Breaking News is that all teams will benefit from a clear vision and action plan for their future ambition, and meaningful accountability.
A school of your choice! Let us know your preference, and we will coordinate the donation of a digital media kit on your company’s behalf. You and your team can even join us on-site at the school for the handover and to get a picture.
