Water Works Team-Build with Project Emerald

Published:

Project Emerald is a green initiative from biopharma company GSK, demonstrating its commitment to creating a healthier and more sustainable workplace.

Project Emerald has involved the relocation of GSK’s headquarters from Brentford, West London, to central London. This move places the company closer to the UK capital’s fast-growing Life Sciences hub and its existing collaboration partners.

To celebrate Project Emerald, GSK staff gathered at Nash Conservatory, Royal Botanic Gardens, London, for a team-building day featuring Lightbulb Teams’ Water Works programme.

GSK’s mission is to unite science, technology, and talent to combat diseases, and Water Works perfectly illustrated how collective efforts can contribute to a broader cause. Having previously worked with GSK to deliver our Give a Hand programme to the WREF (Workplace, Real Estate & Facilities) department on GSK’s Orange Day, we were thrilled to continue our collaboration. On the day, over 90 delegates engaged with the programme’s keynote before diving into the challenge at hand. In the end, GSK employees built 20 life-saving water filters, helping to provide clean water for up to 6,000 people for two years.

Access to clean water is fundamental to protecting sight and saving lives, and we are deeply grateful to those who support our mission for a healthier, safer world.
