During the WSP Global Leadership Conference in Madrid, 400 delegates participated in the Water Works programme.
Global Leadership Conference
As one of the world’s leading engineering and professional services firms WSP is committed to creating positive, long-lasting impacts on the communities it serves through a culture of innovation, integrity, and inclusion.
Its Global Leadership Conference, held earlier this year in Madrid, brought together its most senior leaders from almost 50 countries. This event was particularly important because it’s one of the few times a year that the leadership team all come together, face-to-face, to think strategically about not only where they are as a business, but the impact that they’re having on the world and on the environment.
These innovative leaders are helping to guide giant national and international infrastructure projects that are changing the face of countries, cities, and communities all across the world. As an organisation WSP is constantly focused on stretching their ambitions and the positive impact they can have. For this reason, they frequently partner with Lightbulb Teams to help deliver initiatives that make a positive difference.
WSP’s Team-Build
WSP felt like the Water Works programme was perfect for this event because it allows delegates to work together to test their communication skills, their collaboration ability and their willingness and aptitude for stepping outside of their comfort zone. Working as a team it challenges participants to come together to achieve more than the sum of their individual parts.
The activity was an outstanding way for the WSP team to learn how to up-skill on essential leadership skills that will help equip them for the challenges and opportunities that they face in 2024, 2025 and beyond.
As an organisation WSP focuses on people and the Water Works programme was the perfect vehicle to bring this ethos to life. It was a great way for the leadership to learn how to help every single person in the organisation turn up, do their best and achieve their greatest every single day, while also making a positive impact on the world.
Ninety water filters were built on the day, with the remaining ten being shared for WSP to experience internally. The session was so successful and each filter will go on to provide fresh, life-saving water for 300 people for two whole years.
