‘The Big Build’ for DRPG’s 45th Anniversary

At Lightbulb Teams, we’ve cherished a fantastic working relationship with the talented people at DRPG for several years now.

We’ve collaborated on a variety of team-building programmes for DRPG and their clients, including our flagship initiative, Give a Hand. So, when DRPG’s CEO, Dale Parmenter, approached us about creating something extraordinary to celebrate their 45th anniversary, we were thrilled to partner on ‘The Big Build’ initiative.

The Goal of ‘The Big Build’

The mission was simple yet impactful: unite clients, agencies, and venues to construct 45 prosthetic hands during the team-building challenge, with each hand representing a year of DRPG’s 45 years in business.

The LIVE #BigBuild

On Tuesday, 26th November 2024, ‘The Big Build‘ launched with a live broadcast from DRPG’s HQ studio in Kidderminster. Hosted by Dale Parmenter and David Meade, the 60-minute event was streamed globally, bringing teams together to tackle the challenge of building prosthetic hands.

Participants included DRPG’s clients, partners, and suppliers such as Nationwide Building Society, NEC Birmingham, ExCel London, and Attivo, alongside colleagues from DRPG’s satellite offices in Germany and the US.

This shared effort showcased the power of teamwork and a shared sense of purpose, demonstrating a collective commitment to advancing accessibility and creating a meaningful global impact.

‘The Big Build’ Results

An incredible total of 62 prosthetic hands were built live during the broadcast, surpassing DRPG’s goal of 45 to mark their 45th anniversary. These life-changing prosthetic hands will now be delivered to individuals in lower economically developed countries, granting them newfound independence.

David Meade, Founder of LightBulb Teams, commented,

“It was incredibly rewarding to see teams across the globe assembling prosthetic hands live during the broadcast. Once completed, these hands are accompanied by personal messages from the builders and delivered to recipients across the developing world. These hands allow people to feed themselves, write, and regain the independence we often take for granted. This initiative showcases the power of teamwork and compassion to transform lives.”

Dale Parmenter, CEO of DRPG reflected,

“After an incredibly rewarding day, we are thrilled to have exceeded our goal of 45 prosthetic hands. This event encapsulated our ethos of making ‘anything possible’ while marking our 45th anniversary. Knowing that these hands will empower individuals who otherwise wouldn’t have access to such life-changing tools fills us with immense pride.”
