It’s always a pleasure to partner with global brands on their engagement and team development programmes and on this occasion we were particularly excited to have the chance to work with eBay for the first time.
Water Works
As an organisation eBay truly live their purpose by making sure that they’re not just concentrating on profits, but also making a positive impact on the world. For this reason, they decided to assemble 30 of their top team in Europe to come together to do something good, using Lightbulb Teams Water Works programme as the vehicle to do so.
The Water Works programme is an amazing activity for leadership teams because it really allows them to focus on legacy, purpose and impact. eBay, know that every decision that they make as a leadership team has a ripple that exists far beyond what happens inside the room. Similarly, the Water Works programme shows that the small things that we do and don’t do today can have a huge impact in the future.
Every single team member rose to the challenge to make life-saving water filters that will transform the lives of those in the developing world by giving them clean, safe drinking water.
Leading the event in the Castleknock Hotel, Dublin was Fiona from Lightbulb Teams. Fiona said:
“As one of the Lightbulb Teams’ facilitators I was so excited to get the opportunity to work with eBay. Every time we work with a global brand, we’re reminded of the impact that they can have with such a large footprint across the world. And the impact that this team had today was truly sensational. Because of their efforts well over 2,000 people will have clean water for at least two years.
“Part of the reason why the Water Works programme is so powerful is that everybody who builds a water filter will receive a picture of the end recipient. It’s a powerful and impactful way to close the circle and to show that every action we take really does create a meaningful legacy.
