Give a Hand debuts at Stormont, Belfast during the Centre For Democracy And Peace’s Fellowship launch.
Centre for Democracy and Peace
The fourth cohort of the Centre for Democracy and Peace’s Fellowship Programme has been announced, bringing together a select group of leaders to reimagine leadership in Northern Ireland.
The Class of 2025, sworn in at Stormont, Belfast, consists of 28 individuals making significant contributions across politics, business, civic society, and the public sector.
Over the seven-month programme, Fellows will embrace the ‘spirit of possibility’—navigating complexity, fostering collaboration, and engaging with critical issues to drive positive change.
Spirit of Possibility
The launch event was hosted by motivational speaker and Lightbulb Teams founder David Meade, who energised the room—welcoming the new cohort, alumni, and partners. A highlight of the event was the Give a Hand team-building exercise, where participants, including First Minister Michelle O’Neill MLA and deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly MLA, built prosthetic hands from scratch.
David also spoke with the First and deputy First Ministers about the profound impact these prosthetic hands can have on recipients worldwide. The exercise embodied the Fellowship’s mission: fostering teamwork, innovation, and meaningful change in Northern Ireland.
