Lightbulb Teams travel to the Cotswolds to deliver the Water Works team-building programme to 150 leadership professionals.
Building a Legacy
At Lightbulb Teams, we have the privilege of delivering our impactful team-building experiences in locations around the world. This month, we travelled to the beautiful town of Chipping Norton in the Cotswolds to run our Water Works programme at a corporate leadership event.
Renowned for its rich agricultural history and picturesque landscapes, (not to mention Jeremy Clarkson’s Diddly Squat farm), the Cotswolds provided the perfect setting for senior teams to come together and focus on something bigger than themselves—helping others.
Over the course of a two-day leadership event, 150 business process outsourcing (BPO) professionals gathered to explore themes of empowerment and giving back.
The Water Works Programme
With a focus on people at the heart of the event, our Water Works programme was chosen as the ideal CSR activity—an opportunity for delegates to empower communities around the world through the act of building water filters.
Our facilitator Fiona kicked things off with an inspiring talk on the power of listening, which is an essential skill in both teamwork and everyday life. Delegates were then challenged to assemble water filters in their teams. Some took on leadership roles, others were blindfolded to simulate barriers faced by people in real-world situations, and others channelled their creativity into decorating water filter tiles.

Why Water Works Matters
Access to clean drinking water is a basic human need, yet in many parts of the world, it remains out of reach. Communities are often left with no choice but to collect contaminated water for drinking, bathing, and cooking—leading to preventable illnesses, vision loss, and even death. But each water filter built during our Water Works programme can help.
Each filter aims to provide clean, safe drinking water for up to 300 people for up to two years. That’s not just a filter, but a life-changing gift of health, dignity, and hope. Thanks to the efforts of everyone in the Cotswolds, 30 water filters will be donated, (16 built on the day, and 14 facilitated!)
