WSP EMEA leadership team build 63 prosthetic hands at the UK Growing Together Conference 2022.
As one of the world’s leading engineering and professional services firms WSP is committed to creating positive, long-lasting impacts on the communities it serves through a culture of innovation, integrity, and inclusion.
With over 9,000 professionals across the UK and Ireland, it is dedicated to local communities and propelled by international brainpower.
Its UK conference brought together a huge cohort of its EMEA leadership team in Birmingham’s Millennium Point to plan for the future strategy of the business. A time to share ideas on where they are now and where they’re going.
With the help of the Lightbulb Teams and founder David Meade, who emceed the event and delivered the keynote, the programme culminated with the participants working together on the Give A Hand initiative. This immersive team building event helped to create 63 prosthetic hands! All of which will be donated in the company’s name to deserving individuals around the world.
These hands will make a life-changing difference to their recipients, allowing them to go to work or school, feed and dress themselves and provide for their families.
After leading the successful session David said:
“Myself and the Lightbulb team have had a long and fruitful relationship with WSP. They’re a business who spend every day working to make a difference to communities, societies and economies. And while they are usually working on projects like the Shard and HS2 they are always purpose and impact driven which is why the Give A Hand programme was a great fit for the team and is something I’ve wanted to bring to them for years.
“We’ve worked together so closely on so many projects, virtually and in person and the strength of this relationship was made even closer during the pandemic when we delivered countless virtual get togethers and celebrations for them. It means the world to me that they would chose to support us on the GAH programme. I truly feel like I’m part of the WSP family and I know so many of them.
“They were so generous to support us with this initiative and myself and the entire team at Lightbulb are so grateful. Massive thanks go to Natalie, Emma and Mark for all their help in organising, but also big thanks to the countless WSP members who worked so hard to make the hands.”
