22 individuals receive life-changing prosthetic hands thanks to the teams at Confex, who participated in Lightbulb Team’s ‘Give A Hand’ programme.
For 40 years Confex has delivered ideas, provided inspiration, and served as a meeting ground for the events industry.
Gathering for two days annually, International Confex brings together more than 200 suppliers with venues, tech platforms and so much more. Seven booming content theatres allow attendees to find everything in one place and gain a new perspective on where the industry is heading.
This is one of the world’s biggest conferences for the events industry, so the team at Lightbulb were extremely excited to be invited by Mash Media and Fast Forward 15 to deliver their Give A Hand programme at the event.
Every year Fast Forward 15 invests in 15 high-potential women, mentoring them and helping find their voice in the industry, grow their confidence, build their network and show that anything is possible when they set and stick to goals.
As a company Mash Media provides forums for events professionals to benchmark, develop, share, learn and sell through its different brands, including International Confex.
The event was an amazing opportunity for the Lightbulb team and founder David Meade to connect and collaborate with some of the brightest voices in the industry and potential future leaders.
On the day the participants helped to build 22 clinical prosthetic hands that will now be donated in Confex’s name to needy individuals across the world. These life-changing prosthetics will enable the recipients to rebuild their lives, provide for their families and take care of themselves.
Commenting on the experience David said: “Fast Forward 15 provides an incredible opportunity for its mentees and Mash Media has always been at the leading edge of where the industry is today and where it’s going, so for myself and the Lightbulb team to be invited along was an incredible honour.
“It was a great way to give back to the industry and do it with purpose and we’re so thankful with the hard work everyone put into the Give A Hand challenge. Particular thanks go to Liz Agostini from Mash Media and Fay Sharpe from Fast Forward 15 for making us feel so welcome and supporting us with this life-changing initiative.”
