Lightbulb Teams provides global, charitable team building activities that enhance corporate culture and social responsibility by creating prosthetic hands, water filters, and toys for developing communities.

At Lightbulb Teams, we strive to create meaningful, positive change in the world, through our charitable team building activities that are delivered in locations all over the world. Our programme portfolio hosts a range of activities driven by corporate social responsibility, we aim to elevate your organisation’s internal culture, whilst also benefiting individuals in developing countries.

What is CSR?

CSR – or Corporate Social Responsibility – refers to the contribution of a business to the environmental, ethical and economic aspects of the communities close to them. As a business, engaging in CSR activities is extremely important to improve the overall perception of your brand to employees, customers and potential investors.

Many businesses are aware of the impact of corporate social responsibility but are unsure of how to get started – that’s where we come in. At Lightbulb Teams, we operate a variety of activities that are driven by CSR initiatives, aiming to engage, educate and inspire your team. Overall, we aim to equip your team with the tools necessary to make a meaningful change in the world, whilst also building authentic relationships with one another.

We offer a variety of programmes, giving you the freedom to choose which is best suited to your team and their needs.

Give a Hand

The Give a Hand programme provides your team with the tools necessary to construct a prosthetic hand from scratch. These are then sent to our Charity partners who run clinics, fitting the prosthetic hands onto a recipient – who can either be a child or an adult – in a developing country who has lost a limb.

Each session hosted by Lightbulb Teams begins with a keynote talk. This is fully personalised to your business and will be closely aligned with the aims, objectives and overarching goals of your business. Moving onto the team building activity, each table will be provided with a complete set of instructions and equipment from which they can create a prosthetic hand which will be delivered to someone in need around the world.

Water Works

The Water Works programme puts empathy and emotional intelligence at the heart of its sessions, which involve the creation of two life-saving water filtration systems for needful communities in developing countries. With over half a million water-related deaths recorded annually, this is a much-needed piece of equipment to save the lives of communities.

Toy for Life

Across the world, many children do not have the luxury of toys and are instead forced to play with potentially harmful or dangerous materials. The Toy for Life programme challenges your employees to problem solve, coordinate, strategise, and build a robust wooden toy which will be delivered to a child in need.

Why is CSR important for businesses in today’s climate?

Today’s consumers and employees are less concerned with traditional workplace practices and are more likely to engage with the team around them when the organisation is engaging in CSR activities. In addition to this, 77% of consumers have a higher motivation to purchase from companies that are committed to their corporate social responsibility activities.

Strengthen Team Bonding

Team bonding is an important aspect of any organisation, encouraging your team to work closely together towards the achievement of mutual goals and aspirations. By investing in team bonding activities, you will benefit from increased communication, better collaboration, and a more positive working environment.

At Lightbulb Teams, our CSR activities are designed to provide you with unique opportunities to build bridges across departments and locations. Each of our programmes are designed to prioritise interactivity and teamwork, giving your team the platform to reconnect and bond in new ways.

Building a Positive Company Culture

A positive company culture has many components, including collaboration, productivity and employee satisfaction. By having a positive culture, organisations can gain a competitive advantage as they see a 4x increase in revenue growth and a 17% increase in team performance.

Overall, employees feel more satisfied with their work within an organisation that prioritises social impact in addition to monetary success. By having a collective ‘do good’ attitude, you can boost your company’s reputation whilst also creating a supportive, motivated, and engaged workforce.

Enhancing Employee Engagement

Providing your employees with the opportunity to engage in CSR related activities results in many benefits, but increased employee engagement is not to be underestimated. Previously, CSR was simply viewed as being ‘nice to have’, however it has recently developed into a fundamental area of business. By instilling your employees with a sense of pride and fulfillment, they will become more engaged within the workplace.

Skill Development

The opportunity to develop and learn new skills is an important area of employment. CSR related activities result in improved problem-solving skills. In addition to this, our range of programmes allows your employees to explore their creativity by coming up with innovative ideas to create water filtration systems, children’s toys and much more.

Measuring the impact of CSR activities on your team

The measurement of CSR activities is important to ensure your efforts achieve the results required, such as employee satisfaction, customer loyalty and improved company reputation. To measure the true impact of your CSR, we recommend benchmarking your organisation against key competitors and monitoring your activities versus theirs over time. In addition to this, you might consider seeking recognition for your CSR practices with measurement tools and awards.
