Terex’s Water Works Team Build

Published:

Lightbulb Teams has had the great pleasure of working with manufacturing company Terex many times over the years, both in the United States and Europe, as well as closer to home.

Team Building with Terex

For this particular event in Dublin, they contracted Lightbulb Teams to deliver a game changing, team building experience that would ignite the inspiration of their team and encourage them to think big about their future. They wanted to engage their people to run towards the tough stuff and the challenges that they face every day.

The company’s purpose is to help improve the lives of people around the world and so the Water Works programme was a perfect fit. Veering away from the typical conference setup, Terex decided to set some time aside to not only learn about communication, collaboration, problem solving and thinking outside the box but to use Water Works as a vehicle to allow them to do that.

The Water Works initiative offers an amazing experience for teams to come together to build empathy with the people around them by building a life-saving clean water filter. Each filter made will provide fresh, lifesaving water for 300 people for two whole years.

46 Water Filters Built

Lightbulb facilitator, Aaron said:

  • “At Lightbulb we passionately believe that every time we come together to do good things as a business, we should do good things in the world as well. So we were really honoured that Terex invited us along to deliver one of our flagship CSR charitable philanthropic team builds.

“As an organisation that specialises in immersive team building we passionately believe that while learning you can also create a legacy and an impact that exists far beyond the time that your team spends together. We believe that CSR charitable and philanthropic team builds are the most perfect way to analogise that everything that we do as a business has a legacy, an impact and a ripple effect. Every decision that we make and take, every action that we do or don’t do, lives far beyond the moment. Terex shares this ethos and time and time again they have joined us to help contribute to the greater good.

  • “On this occasion the team immersed themselves in the exercise and built 46 life-saving filters that will provide for an entire community in Uganda.”

CSR team building is not just about educating your team, of course that happens, and our job at Lightbulb Teams is to make sure that there are strong, solid, business transferable learnings from every event, but in addition to that, CSR activities allow you to do something that really makes a difference to the life of someone in the world that you haven’t even met.

Aaron continued that “on behalf of Lightbulb I’d like to say a huge thanks to all of the leadership team at Terex for their commitment to doing good and to all of the team for all their hard work and effort on the day. In the weeks and months ahead, as the filters are distributed, we look forward to being able to send through pictures of all the individual recipients so the Terex team can see first-hand who they have helped.”
